With 2017 drawn to a close, I hope you can pause for a moment and celebrate a year filled with inspiration, growth and success in your practice.
The New Year brings a time of transition here at the Center for Educational Leadership. I will be officially stepping down from my role as executive director on June 30, 2018. After 17 years at the helm of CEL, it’s time for me to pursue some other life adventures. It’s been a deeply rewarding journey, and I have been blessed to have worked with so many incredibly smart, dedicated and passionate educators along the way.
While it is never easy to say goodbye, I am comforted knowing that our work here at CEL will not be diminished in any way by my departure. In fact I can say with excitement that our work will only grow and flourish under the direction of our new executive director, Max Silverman. Many of you know Max, who is a distinguished educator and has been leading many of CEL’s major initiatives and projects for the last nine years. Max will officially begin his role as the new executive director on July 1, 2018. I am sure he will be reaching out on our behalf in the future.
I hope the coming year will be filled with new experiences, great achievements, personal growth and the continued certainty that your work really makes a difference. I look forward to our continued work together over the next six months, and I hope to stay in touch with as many valued friends and colleagues as possible beyond that time.
On behalf of all of us at the University of Washington Center for Educational Leadership, we wish you a Happy New Year. May 2018 be a year of great achievement for all!
